About The Position

Lollypop Farm is seeking per diem veterinarians to perform HQHVSN surgeries to increase spay/neuter services for community and shelter pets. This role involves minimal client contact, adherence to quality medical protocols, and support from a skilled team of surgical technicians. Veterinarians will schedule shifts up to two months in advance to cover vacations and supplement surgery capacity. The position requires the ability to perform complex surgeries including cryptorchids (inguinal and abdominal), pyometra surgeries, pregnant spays, and pediatric surgeries.

Requirements

DVM, VMD or equivalent Doctoral Veterinary degree with license to practice in New York State.
Skilled in performing a high volume of spay and neuter surgeries, including on pediatric patients.
Ability to perform necessary surgeries and medical treatments in accordance with accepted professional standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to make consistent and sound decisions regarding an animal’s health.
Strong interpersonal skills working with a team.

Nice To Haves

Ability and comfort to tackle cryptorchids (inguinal and abdominal), pyometra surgeries, pregnant spays, and pediatric surgeries.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-operative examinations.
Perform, on average, up to 20 spay/neuter surgeries per day once fully up to speed.
Provide vaccinations and limited medical care as needed.
Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable state and federal laws.
Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
Perform other duties as requested.
