Requirements

  • Applicants must have urgent care experience and current DOT certification.
  • Licensure: You must hold a current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state where this job will be performed. If you do not currently hold a license, you must be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Education: A Master's degree is required, either from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nursing program.
  • Certification: If you are a Nurse Practitioner, you must be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). If you are a physician assistant, you must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • CPR Certification: You must have current CPR certification, or be willing to obtain it prior to your start date.
  • DOT Certification: You need to have DOT certification, or be able to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and treating common urgent care conditions, including respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, minor injuries, work-related injuries, and acute illnesses.
  • Performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and other urgent care procedures.
  • Interpreting initial digital X-rays and EKGs.
  • Completing DOT physicals and occupational health visits in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Collaborating with medical assistants, scribes, and fellow providers to deliver efficient, patient-centered care.
  • Using Athena EMR and following established clinical guidelines, workflows, and protocols.
