About The Position

UCI Health is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Tech for their Ultrasound IP department in Orange. This role involves performing a full range of basic diagnostic Ultrasound procedures, including preparing and positioning patients, adjusting equipment, and operating various imaging systems. The technologist may rotate to different areas of the medical center and will perform exams on adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, logging repairs, and rotating shifts and assignments as needed. Professional conduct is expected at all times in interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.

Requirements

ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and/or OB/Gyn and/or Vascular upon hire and a second credential of Abdomen and/or OB/Gyn and/or Vascular by end of 6-month probationary period.
Must perform both inpatient and outpatient exams, and all other ultrasound exams as needed.
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.
Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Current BLS certification.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Nice To Haves

Vascular and neuro ultrasound experience.
Recent work experience in an acute care setting.
Experience/training in musculoskeletal, transcranial doppler, breast and/or vascular ultrasound.
Prefer BCLS.
