About The Position

The Per Diem RN Trained Sonographer is a vital role in assessing and tracking reproductive health for patients undergoing fertility treatments. This role conducts precise transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds, obtains detailed diagnostic images, and works closely with physicians to assist in treatment planning. Dedicated to precision and professionalism, the Per Diem RN Trained Sonographer also ensures patient comfort, safety, and education throughout the imaging procedure. We are seeking a Per Diem RN Trained Ultrasonographer to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility - Ohio in Akron, Ohio. This is a per diem, on-site position offering flexible, as needed scheduling, with preferred availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and the opportunity to contribute to a patient’s life-changing journey.

Requirements

Associate's degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field preferred.
Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification preferred or completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with sonography experience.
Active RN license issued by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
1-2 years of experience performing transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds as a Sonographer in a fertility clinic or reproductive medicine setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in interpreting ultrasound images and accurately documenting findings.
Strong knowledge of fertility-related ultrasound procedures, terminology, and reproductive anatomy.

Responsibilities

Perform transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds to assess pelvic structures, monitor follicular development, and diagnose reproductive conditions.
Utilize advanced ultrasound technology to obtain high-quality images with precision.
Ensure accuracy in capturing, documenting, and analyzing diagnostic images.
Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality during procedures.
Prepare patients for procedures, perform preoperative assessment, give discharge instructions, and start IV.
Recover patients after general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care.
Reinforce discharge instructions.
Deliver direct patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases in the surgical suite.
Identify and interpret normal and abnormal findings to support fertility assessments.
Collaborate with physicians to provide timely, accurate diagnostic reports and assist in treatment planning.
Maintain detailed and organized patient records and ultrasound reports.
Educate and support patients by explaining procedures and their role in fertility care.
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.
