About The Position
LearnWell is seeking a passionate and creative substitute teacher to provide class coverage during the school year in the Central Connecticut State area on a per-diem basis. The role is based in a fast-paced behavioral health facility and supports child and adolescent school-age patients receiving treatment. The teacher provides academic support in a small classroom setting, with most class sizes ranging from 8 to 15 students. The position offers the opportunity to help students continue their education during treatment and support their successful reintegration into the classroom.
Requirements
- B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
- Connecticut state teaching license.
- Comfortable working with K–12 students.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
- Reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
- Provide individualized assistance to students.
- Communicate about student progress as needed.
- Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to support student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
