The per-diem Registered Nurse is responsible for partnering with Program Directors and Social Workers for the oversight of the health and wellness care of youth in the programs. Knowledge of childhood trauma and its impacts on youth’s physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, and vocational health is paramount. Knowledge of standard nursing care, protocols, health and physical safety, and documentation is also required. The Registered Nurse works closely with Program Managers and Social Worker(s) in the design and facilitation of the program milieu and service delivery system, quality assurance measurements, and agency goals. This individual assesses, treats, cares for, follows-up on, and provides documentation for the healthcare needs of youth in care within the scope of practice for a licensed professional nurse in the state of New York. This individual is directly accountable to the Director of Medical Services. This position will be cross-trained in OCFS and OMH.
