About The Position

This is a per diem position in the Neurology Department collaborating with multiple providers in a multidisciplinary team. The role is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate, individualized nursing care for adults and their families, particularly those undergoing specialized treatments in the neurology clinic. The position involves collaborating with the inpatient and outpatient clinical care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes, ensuring care is safe, efficient, effective, timely, and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family. Additionally, the role participates in clinical research trials within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] preferred
  • Clinical nursing experience 1-2 year required
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assures competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care for adults and their families.
  • Responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of patients undergoing specialized treatments in neurology clinic.
  • Collaborates with the inpatient and outpatient clinical care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensures that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family.
  • Participates in clinical research trials within scope of practice.
  • Interpreting the plan of medical care.
  • Assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care.
  • Assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner.
  • Providing individualized nursing care.
  • Evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
