About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting. VTP also provides continuing education, precepting and other educational support to clinical team members and customers. VTP provides on-site and mobile vascular access support services throughout the Western and Southern United States and prides itself on delivering innovative, affordable and easy to procure services with high levels of client and patient satisfaction. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you'll work collaboratively with our customers' clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and support treatment objectives set by the treating physician. Depending on the referral, you may work inside or outside the hospital setting — giving you a unique opportunity to see different treatment protocols and patient challenges across care settings. If you're looking for a change from 12-hour shifts on your feet or rushing between patients with no time for quality care, this role offers a different pace and focus.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current, active license
  • Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
  • Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and meet scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Must LOVE vascular access

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
  • Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices
  • Provide vascular access support services including port access, line removal, and declotting
  • Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs
