About The Position

This position develops, implements and participates in customer related programs. This includes promoting the program in the community, serving as a specialist and resource person for hospital staff, and providing service within the program.
Requirements
- Graduation from and accredited school of nursing.
- Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in the appropriate specialty area.
- Valid License by State of Nevada to Practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Knowledge of Performance improvement principles and methods.
- Knowledge of specific area of clinical nursing or program focus.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Accrediting body, State and Federal standards.
- Knowledge of community agencies with interests in relevant services.
- Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act.
- Knowledge of department and hospital safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of patient rights.
- Knowledge of infection control policies and practices.
- Knowledge of handling, storage and use and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of age specific patient care practices.
- Skill in developing programs.
- Skill in nursing principles and practices.
- Skill in developing policies and procedures.
- Skill in applying grant writing and grant management techniques.
- Skill in applying needs assessment techniques.
- Skill in applying adult education practices.
- Skill in developing public relations.
- Skill in applying cost accounting methods.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing among conflicting priorities.
- Skill in applying team building concepts.
- Skill in facilitating groups.
- Skill in performing statistical analysis.
- Skill in using computers and a variety of software applications.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.
- Skill in efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
- Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment.
- Stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in a Specialty Area.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS – American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience with education, outreach, data review and presentation, meeting management, and performance improvement process as it relates to Burn care and patient matters.
