About The Position

The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients. The per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts at any of the four hospitalist pods—Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Fort Bend, Woodlands and Vintage.

Requirements

• Active Texas medical license
• Internal Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible

Nice To Haves

• No requirement to perform any procedure.

Responsibilities

• Rounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients during daytime shifts.
• Admitting patients from the ER during daytime shifts (some shifts only).
• Responding to ER calls and admitting patients during nighttime shifts (7pm to 7am).
• Staying in-house for the duration of nighttime shifts and being responsible for all calls regarding admissions.
• Efficiently managing patients in hospital and interacting with specialists to coordinate care.
• Transitioning follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.
• Participating in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.
