About The Position
Under the direction of the section supervisor, performs day-to-day tasks of the phlebotomy and accessioning areas. This includes blood drawing from in/outpatients, data entry, receipt, handling, accessioning, and centrifuging specimens, and other support laboratory functions. The candidate is required to work AM phlebotomy, outpatient phlebotomy, weekends, and holidays based on department needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Phlebotomy certificate or license.
- Six months of relevant patient blood drawing experience, including pediatric sticks.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day tasks of phlebotomy and accessioning areas.
- Draw blood from in/outpatients.
- Perform data entry.
- Receive, handle, accession, and centrifuge specimens.
- Perform other support laboratory functions.
