About The Position

As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. UMC is a Level I Trauma Center, home of the ONLY Verified Burn Center, and Transplant Center. The position is responsible for performing various administrative and management duties, including providing leadership and education to the Continuum of Care Medical Staff (CCMS). The physician will also provide professional physician services and develop and manage the medical practice for emergency medicine providers.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Residency trained and board certified in Emergency Medicine.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (up to 3 years of eligibility) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, obtained within five (5) years of postgraduate training.
  • Ability to prescribe medications and obtain a DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
  • Ability to be credentialed by various health insurance companies.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS – accepted by the American Red Cross).
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent certifications are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship.

Responsibilities
