The Per Diem Patient Escort is responsible for transporting patients and/or family members to ensure accessibility to services such as medical and social services. This role involves utilizing safety measures during all transports, including the use of infant car seats and safety belts. The escort will assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, accessing clinic facilities, and using mobility devices. They are also responsible for maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing preventive maintenance. Additionally, the Patient Escort will accompany patients to medical facilities, assist with appointments, interpret instructions, and guide them to and from various locations. This position requires a commitment to patient confidentiality and positive interactions with patients, families, and staff. The role may also involve delivering medications, supplies, or educational materials. The Patient Escort must operate vehicle wheelchair lifts safely and report to work promptly, notifying supervisors of any late transportation. This position requires working weekends, early and late hours beyond routine operations. The role involves frequent travel between Riverside San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc. locations and surrounding communities, and may provide coverage for other drivers during times of need. The ideal candidate will be able to work with the Indian community and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.
