About The Position

The Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • 1+ year of prior experience as a Medical Assistant or Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant or 6+ months of experience as a Medical Assistant or Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant if graduated from an accredited Medical or Ophthalmic Assistant program
  • Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
  • CRT experience

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years in optometric setting
  • Able to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings
  • Windows bases computer skills
