Evaluate, plan, and provide occupational therapy treatment programs for pediatric patients whose injury, disease, or loss of body part interferes with daily functioning. Provide skilled intervention using a variety of techniques that are appropriate to achieve identified goals. In this role, you will cover pediatric orthopedics, neuro, trauma, ICU, and general medicine/surgery floors, with the potential to treat outpatients. The shift for this per diem position is 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., with schedules for both weekdays and weekends, with the possibility of holiday coverage. Minimum of 2 days (15 hours) per month, and 1 weekend shift per quarter. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- New York State Occupational Therapy License.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrates competency in clinical skills consistent with the level of education, training, and experience.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of pediatrics experience in hospital-based inpatient OT and outpatient settings
- Master’s Degree
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification
- AOTA Membership.
