About The Position

St. Paul's School seeks a registered nurse in our health center to work on a per diem schedule. This is an academic-year, non-exempt staff position. We are looking for a nurse with flexibility and a willingness to work all shifts including evenings, nights and weekends. Per diem nurses should plan to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Provide quality nursing care to St. Paul’s School students in an outpatient and inpatient setting. As a Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s School, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional, student-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adolescents or school nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing thorough physical assessments and triaging students during the shift.
  • Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including our Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Coordinator, and Counselors.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and maintaining detailed documentation in our electronic medical record system.
  • Assisting with pre- and post-operative care, and the implementation of nursing protocols and treatment plans.
  • Administering medications and vaccines, collecting diagnostic specimens, and promoting preventive health through education.
  • Ensuring the safe handling, administration, and storage of all medications.
  • Administrative duties including daily medication reconciliation, scanning, and restocking.
