Per Diem Nurse Supervisor
About The Position
Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed, private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, is seeking a per diem Nursing Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their nursing career with supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting. The Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for the overall facility operations during their assigned shift, including supervising nursing and clinical staff to ensure accurate, timely, and safe patient care. Responsibilities also include assisting the staffing coordinator, communicating issues to nursing management, and conducting round audits. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with shift differentials. Opportunity to cover various shifts and pick up overtime is available.
Requirements
- Current New Jersey RN licensure
- Minimum of one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience, OR two (2) years of medical/surgical experience with proven leadership, strong clinical skills, and high motivation.
- CPR certification required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN/BS preferred.
- Graduate of NLN accredited program preferred.
- ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for complete facility operations during an assigned shift.
- Supervises nursing and clinical staff.
- Ensures that patient care is provided in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
- Assists the staffing coordinator with RN and Mental Health Associate staffing.
- Communicates any issues to the other members of the nursing management team.
- Conducts round audits.
- Assesses and responds to medical needs of patients under the guidance of physicians.
- Conducts safety checks and implements appropriate behavioral management techniques.
- Maintains the core values and mission of Summit Oaks Hospital.
