About The Position

Per Diem Mobile Health Dental Hygienist needed for Community Health Service, Inc. (CHSI) in Willmar, MN. CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farm workers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded its services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Our services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are underinsured or uninsured. We also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, and two victim advocacy program centers. This is a per diem position with a flexible schedule based on mobile health operations and community need. Work is performed exclusively in mobile unit and community-based settings. Hours may include daytime mobile clinic coverage, outreach activities, and occasional evening, after-hours, and weekend events as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Dental Hygienist License and Minimum of an associate degree in Dental Hygiene
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training as required by law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of all company policies and rules

Nice To Haves

  • Versed in Eagle Soft is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in mobile health missions and community-based outreach activities on an as-needed basis to support the communities served by Community Health Service Inc..
  • Provides high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service while delivering dental hygiene services in mobile and community-based settings.
  • Take radiographs of patients using standard dental radiographic equipment
  • Supports efficient patient flow during mobile clinic operations while remaining flexible to accommodate community outreach schedules and patient needs.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, health, disease as well as procedures and services; establish/communicate continued care.
  • Applying preventive materials to the teeth such as fluorides and sealants
  • Verify patient health history and document appropriately in patient's chart.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Perform the following duties as applicable by practice and/or state laws: Screen for Oral Cancer
  • Take and record patients' blood pressure accurately
  • Take alginate impressions and fabricate whitening trays
  • Maintain accurate and legible notes in patients' charts
  • Assist with other office duties as requested or needed
