The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients. The per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts at any of the four hospitalist pods—Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Fort Bend, Woodlands and Vintage.

Requirements

Licensed in the State of Texas
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

Rounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients during daytime shifts.
Admitting patients from the ER in the assigned hospital from 7am to 7pm (some shifts).
Responding to ER calls and admitting patients in the assigned hospital(s) from 7pm to 7am during nighttime shifts.
Staying in-house for the duration of the nighttime shift and being responsible for all calls regarding admissions.
Efficiently managing patients in hospital and interacting with specialists to coordinate care.
Transitioning follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.
Participating in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.
