Seeking an energetic, team-oriented counselor for meaningful work with people admitted to our inpatient state-designated receiving facility. We provide short-term crisis stabilization and brief 1:1 & group counseling in a milieu setting. Some weekends are required. We welcome students who are working towards their master’s degree and would like to become involved in a respected organization with flexibility and many paths for advancement. We offer clinical supervision and valuable experience working with a variety of community populations. If you want to truly LOVE where you work…then we want to talk with you!

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in locked inpatient units is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to respond quickly and effectively to crisis situations.
  • Passion for mental health and enjoys challenges.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Able to solve problems in an environment of positive teamwork and professionalism.
  • Organizational, written, and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Organized self-starters who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • At least one full year working in the mental health field.
  • Commitment to teamwork.
  • Self-Starter, Independent.
  • Time management and organizational skills are a must.
  • Excellent communication ability with co-workers, staff, clients, and community partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Illness Management and Recovery is helpful.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience working in crisis units/environments.
