About The Position

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is seeking a Case Associate to join its Specialized Family Foster Care Program. This role supports children and families with medical complexities, chronic illnesses, and disabilities. The team works to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of youth in foster care. The case associate assists social workers with various casework activities, including supervising visits, escorting children, conducting home visits, and documenting activities in an electronic case record system. The position is per diem and requires availability Monday-Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; BSW preferred
• Prior experience working with families in a child welfare setting preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and engagement skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise family visits in the office, in the community, and virtually, acting as a visiting coach promoting quality family time and ensuring safety.
• Transport children as needed.
• Conduct foster home visits, visits to birth homes and other field visits.
• Assist social workers with necessary phone contacts to arrange appointments to make referrals for concrete services.
• Accompany and advocate for parents at appointments for public benefits, housing, and other necessary services.
• Visit schools to discuss educational progress of children with teachers and other school personnel.
• Provide other assistance, as might reasonably be required, to support case management and permanency efforts for families with children in foster care.
• Document all work activities within prescribed timeframes in the electronic case record.
