About The Position
Jim Dooley Early Learning Center is seeking caring, dependable, and energetic Per Diem Teachers to support our after-school program. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for a flexible afternoon schedule. The position offers a flexible afternoon schedule, a great opportunity to supplement income, and the chance to make a positive impact on children's lives within a supportive and collaborative work environment as part of the trusted UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year of experience working with children in a childcare, school, camp, or similar setting.
Nice To Haves
- CDA Credential
- Vocational training in childcare
- College coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children during after-school hours.
- Assist with supervising children during classroom activities, indoor and outdoor play, and transitions.
- Support age-appropriate learning experiences and enrichment activities.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety.
- Follow New York State childcare regulations, accreditation standards, and Center policies.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to provide quality care and education.
