At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, cutting-edge cancer care while working alongside a world-class multidisciplinary team. Role Overview We are seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Oncology Operating Room team. In this role, you'll provide first assist support for orthopedic oncology surgical procedures, working closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional surgical care. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surgical APP with a passion for orthopedic surgery and the operating room. You'll contribute to complex oncologic procedures while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.

Requirements

  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • For Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification
  • For Physician Assistants: Active New York State license (or eligibility)
  • For Physician Assistants: Experience as a surgical first assist in the operating room
  • For Physician Assistants: BLS certification
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Current New York State RN and NP licenses
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Current New York State NP licensure with the ability to treat pediatric patients
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing
  • For Nurse Practitioners: National NP certification
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • For Nurse Practitioners: RNFA certification and operating room first assist experience required
  • For Nurse Practitioners: BLS certification
  • Technical Excellence: Strong operative and perioperative skills with the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Works seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic operating room environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.

Nice To Haves

  • For Physician Assistants: orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
  • For Physician Assistants: ACLS preferred
  • For Nurse Practitioners: orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
  • For Nurse Practitioners: ACLS preferred
