About The Position

Fivetran's mission is to make access to data simple and reliable. The company enables customer data to arrive in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, without engineering or maintenance. This role is for a People Programs Strategy, Operations & Transformation leader who will drive execution, alignment, and evolution across key People initiatives. The position combines operator, strategist, and builder functions, requiring the ability to transform ambiguous priorities into clear plans, scalable systems, and measurable outcomes. The leader will partner with the VP, Employee Experience and the People Leadership team to set direction and deliver results. A significant part of the role involves leading AI and automation adoption within the People function, identifying technological improvements, and scaling solutions. This is a highly cross-functional and high-impact role with visibility across leadership and direct collaboration with the Chief People Officer. This is an initial 12-month, 40-hour per week contract, hybrid position based out of the Oakland, CA office, requiring two days in the office each week.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in program management, operations, employee experience, or similar roles
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience driving or supporting transformation, automation, or AI adoption
  • Strong internal communications skills—clear, concise, and audience-aware
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes and operating cadences
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with senior leaders and influencing without authority
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead People transformation and AI strategy, including owning and driving the roadmap for AI-enabled People operations, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve core HR processes, and partnering with HR, IT, and Analytics to test, implement, and scale solutions.
  • Drive high-impact People programs, leading end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives, setting direction, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and delivering outcomes on time.
  • Run People operations with rigor, translating strategy into clear plans, operating cadences, and decision frameworks, and building systems for alignment and accountability (OKRs, QBRs, reporting, planning).
  • Own internal communications, ensuring People initiatives are clearly communicated and understood, building simple, consistent messaging, and helping leaders communicate changes, especially around transformation and AI.
  • Manage the People portfolio, maintaining a clear view of priorities, progress, risks, and trade-offs across initiatives, creating visibility for leadership, and driving decisions.
  • Support leadership decision-making by bringing structure to ambiguity, synthesizing inputs, identifying patterns, recommending next steps, and building clear, concise materials.
  • Build scalable systems and processes, identifying and fixing friction points, and using automation, AI, and better workflows to improve speed, clarity, and efficiency.
  • Partner across the business, working closely with teams across HR, Legal, IT, Analytics, and leadership to drive alignment, navigate trade-offs, and keep work moving forward.
