About The Position

At SafeRide Health, we are entering an exciting phase of scale. To support our rapid growth, we are completely redesigning our HR function to align directly with the Employee Lifecycle: Attract + Hire, The Engine, Engage + Develop, and Reward + Retain. We are moving away from a generalist model and building a team of dedicated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). We are looking for a People Operations Specialist to serve as the steward of our core infrastructure, also known as The Engine. You will own our systems, compliance, and total rewards administration, ensuring that the foundational operations of our employee experience are seamless, automated, and accurate. You will own our HRIS (BambooHR), automate our onboarding and offboarding workflows, administer our benefits programs, and support our compensation cycles. You are a builder who hates manual data entry and loves finding ways to make systems do the heavy lifting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in People Operations, HRIS administration, or Benefits Management.
  • Deep experience administering a modern HRIS (BambooHR experience is a massive plus). You understand how to map data between systems and leverage automation triggers.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of federal and state employment laws, particularly regarding leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA) and benefits compliance.
  • You have a zero-tolerance policy for messy data. You are highly organized, methodical, and double-check your work before hitting submit.
  • You enjoy taking fragmented, manual processes and building them into streamlined, scalable workflows. You communicate clearly and proactively with cross-functional partners (like Finance and IT).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner and administrator of our HRIS (BambooHR), acting as the owner of our employee data integrity.
  • Centralize and automate all pre-onboarding tasks (background checks, E-Verify, IT coordination).
  • Automate offboarding workflows to ensure immediate and compliant access removals across all peripheral systems (Betterment, Litmos, internal tools).
  • Continuously audit manual HR workflows and build or optimize API integrations to eliminate redundant data entry.
  • Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including vendor relationships, invoice reconciliation, and employee inquiries.
  • Lead the tactical execution of annual Open Enrollment.
  • Administer and track all FMLA, ADA, and Leave of Absence requests, ensuring strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Support the execution of our semi-annual merit and compensation review cycles, ensuring accurate data flows from the review platform into our HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Manage all state and federal compliance reporting (e.g., EEO-1, state-specific mandates) to meet the needs of our distributed workforce.
  • Conduct regular audits of employee data, files, and classifications to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Build and maintain automated HR dashboards to provide the Senior Leadership Team with real-time data on headcount, turnover, and benefits utilization.
