About The Position

This is a temporary, full-time position with full benefits, with an expected end date of 4 months from hire. We’re looking for a People Ops Coordinator to support the daily operations of our People team. This role will focus on providing high-quality administrative assistance, ensuring smooth execution of People programs and processes, and supporting data reporting needs across the HR function. As a People Ops Coordinator, you will help maintain data accuracy in Workday, streamline workflows, and support initiatives that enhance the employee experience at Nuro. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in detail-oriented work, values process excellence, and enjoys being a collaborative problem solver in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • You have 2+ years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, Recruiting Coordination, or HR administration, ideally in a high-growth or scaling environment.
  • Experience coordinating compliance-oriented steps such as background checks, I-9 verification, etc.
  • You’ve directly supported employee onboarding workflows and are comfortable managing high-volume, deadline-driven work.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, and you enjoy providing excellent service to employees, candidates, and hiring teams.
  • Exceptionally organized with a strong attention to detail—you take pride in clean data, well-documented processes, and timely follow-through
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting high-volume hiring for Operations teams (or other compliance-heavy workforces).
  • Familiarity with HR systems and tools such as Workday, DocuSign, and/or Checkr.

Responsibilities

  • Execute high-volume Operations onboarding (weekly cohorts), including background checks, I-9 coordination, and Day 1 readiness.
  • Maintain the New Hire Tracker and process employee data transactions in Workday/other systems with strong accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proactively follow up with new hires, recruiting, and internal partners to confirm new hire start dates, resolve blockers, and manage changes; escalate risks/issues with sound judgment.
  • Identify recurring onboarding friction points and improve trackers, templates, and checklists to increase speed and quality while protecting confidentiality.
