About The Position

As the People and Culture Manager, you will support the agency in prioritizing people, relationships, community, and carrying out the agency’s people strategy. In this role, you will serve as a generalist, responsible for a broad range of people-related functions, and will guide and support talent and culture development and employee relations. You will be a champion of TPN’s culture and values and be a critical part of the “glue”. You will work in collaboration to promote the full development, performance, wellness, and satisfaction of all employees. As the People and Culture Manager, you will serve as a subject matter expert in employment laws, compliance requirements, and support the development and implementation of agency policies and procedures. You will play an integral role in ensuring The Pathfinder Network (TPN) staff and programs are fully supported to deliver high-quality prevention and intervention services to adults and children who are justice-involved. You will support the organizational culture of TPN while ensuring we have the processes in place to provide a positive work experience for our employees.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Three or more years working in progressive human resources roles, with HR Generalist responsibilities including employee relations
  • One year or more of management experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Working knowledge of SaaS payroll solutions such as Paylocity, Paychex, ADP, etc.
  • Intermediate level computer capabilities in the use of databases, web-based environments, word processing, email, and spreadsheets
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle during work hours that is covered by adequate car insurance.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that meets the organization’s underwriting criteria
  • Must pass a background check, employment verification, and drug screen (which does not include testing for marijuana).

  • Experience in corrections, criminal justice, or nonprofit setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the People and Culture department.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding efforts and activities.
  • Manage, develop and enhance key processes within the department.
  • Lead employee relations, including coaching, investigations, corrective action, mediations, and conflict resolution in alignment with agency values.
  • Maintain and review job descriptions and personnel files for all positions in the organization.
  • Track KPIs, generate reports, and provide data to inform management decisions.
  • Work with applicants, employees, and managers to engage in the interactive process to ensure reasonable accommodations, in compliance with the ADA/ADAAA.
  • Maintain, review, and update the employee handbook.
  • Support the development and implementation of agency policies and procedures, applying a critical approach to ensuring equitable and inclusive practices.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of compliance and regulatory changes, industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead full implementation of HRIS.
  • Develop resources to support staff and information sharing. Conduct research to support the development of resources.
  • Lead and manage all required reporting, including oversight of Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Support agency projects, initiatives, and event planning.
  • Supervise People and Culture staff, volunteers, or interns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Develop, support and promote a work environment that is engaging, energizing, and one where team members can thrive.
  • Partner with People & Culture team, Leadership Team and all agency staff to foster a collaborative, healthy, highly functioning internal work culture that, while acknowledging systemic racism, positions TPN to address issues that could undermine equity and inclusivity.
  • Be a champion in the shaping and sustaining of a diverse, equitable, inclusive and just workplace, with a focus towards creating racial equity. Engage in training and commit to continual growth.
  • Support Shared Leadership model, and other agency wide models, and develop tools to promote success.
  • Participate on cross-departmental teams or committees regarding organizational policies, processes and work environment
  • Participate in Temporary Teams, Equity Team, Employee Resource Groups, and other teams
  • Contribute individualized skills, knowledge, experience and expertise to help the agency reach its mission
