About The Position

This role assists with employment-related paperwork and data entry, processes information, and completes required forms such as Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation. It involves communicating verbally and in writing with individuals and groups, supporting the hiring process by scheduling interviews and drug screens, completing reference checks, processing new hires, terminations, and transfers, and assisting with new hire and transfer orientation. The position also processes payroll documentation, researches and verifies time reports, and assists with human resource functions including payroll, benefits, and employment. General clerical duties such as filing, data entry, answering phones, and scheduling appointments are also part of the role. The People Clerk must comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, and complete work assignments by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with others, identifying priorities, and adapting to change. Requirements

  • 6 months experience in Walmart Logistics clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) using computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing) OR 1 year's experience in clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) using computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing) OR 1 year's coursework in Human Resource related field (e.g., Business Management, Human Resources) AND 1 year's experience in computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing) OR 1 year's experience in human resource activities (e.g., payroll, benefits, workers compensation, FMLA, OSHA) AND 1 year's experience in computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing).

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in a HR related field (e.g., Business Management, Human Resources).
  • Experience in clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry, maintaining financial records) using computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing) AND 1 year's experience interacting with customers in writing and verbally.
  • Experience in human resource activities (e.g., payroll, benefits, workers compensation, FMLA, OSHA) including experience in warehouse or manufacturing.
  • Fluency in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) based on business and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with employment related paperwork and data entry work by processing information and completing required forms (e.g., Leave of Absence, Workers Compensation, OSHA log).
  • Communicates with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Provides support for the hiring process by scheduling interviews and drug screens, completing reference checks, processing new hires, terminations, and transfer paperwork and data entry work, and assisting with new hire and transfer orientation.
  • Processes payroll documentation for pay adjustments by researching, verifying, and filing daily time reports, time and pay adjustments, and payroll edits.
  • Assists with human resource functions (e.g., payroll, benefits, employment), including preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and processing reports, documents, and logs to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Responds to issues and questions related to payroll, benefits, and employment, and reporting deficiencies to management.
  • Provides administrative and human resource function support by performing general clerical duties (e.g., filing, keying, faxing, answering phones, entering data in multiple systems, scheduling appointments, maintaining logs).
  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes reports and other paperwork, processes human resources (HR) reports and documents, and processes paperwork.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
