PEI Inspector

Shell•Monaca, PA
•$103,000 - $155,000

About The Position

The PEI Inspector serves as the site’s senior pressure equipment integrity (PEI) inspection authority. The role executes inspections, verifies compliance with inspection requirements, and independently challenges execution and integrity management activities. It works closely with PEI specialists, maintenance teams, planners, and contractors while maintaining inspection independence. The position does not set enterprise standards; it verifies asset condition and site-level compliance and escalates concerns through established governance channels. The inspector performs planned and ad-hoc inspections of pressure equipment, piping, and integrity-critical mechanical assets; identifies damage mechanisms, degradation, and integrity threats; and documents findings with risk rankings, recommended actions, and supporting evidence. The role also verifies corrective and preventive actions, supports audits, assessments, and incident investigations, and provides feedback to improve inspection strategies and integrity management practices. The position is in Pennsylvania, United States, within the Production and Manufacturing Downstream job family and Downstream and Renewables business unit. The stated base salary range is $103,000–$155,000 per year. Shell describes opportunities for skill development, diverse career progression, training, collaboration, flexible working hours, and possible remote/mobile working.
