About The Position

Protocall Services is a national leader in crisis intervention, providing effective solutions and resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This Peer Support Specialist role is fully remote and involves engaging with the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) to connect with diverse individuals seeking support. Specialists will build empowering peer relationships, offer hope, recovery, and support services by sharing their lived experience through the New Mexico Peer-to-Peer Warmline. The role requires working holidays and weekends, as peer support is needed 365 days a year, with a primary work schedule of 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM Mountain Time. Peer Support Specialists work closely within a unique, structured Warmline environment, participating in ongoing meetings, training, and team building activities. Handling confidential information professionally and maintaining a continued commitment to personal recovery are essential for this role. Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Certified Peer Support Worker, Family Peer, Wraparound or Equivalent (Accepted certifications: CFPSW, CPSW, and CWF or Equivalent)
  • Current experience as a peer
  • Willingness to acquire certification in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Working from home maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus requiring distraction-free private office space
  • Continued commitment to your own recovery is essential

Responsibilities

  • Speak with callers over the phone connecting with people
  • Building rapport and client engagement
  • Provide available resources or information needed
  • Remaining calm and professional while multi-tasking while supporting callers
  • Engage with the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL)
  • Build empowering peer relationships with individuals who are in search of someone who will listen
  • Offer hope, as well as recovery and support services, while sharing your lived experience with each person who reaches out to the New Mexico Peer-to-Peer Warmline
  • Handle confidential information professionally
  • Take part in ongoing meetings, training and team building activities
