This Peer Support Specialist role involves engaging with the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) to connect with diverse individuals seeking support. Specialists build empowering peer relationships, offering hope, recovery, and support services by sharing their lived experience with callers on the New Mexico Peer-to-Peer Warmline. The position requires working closely with other Peer Support Specialists in a structured environment, participating in ongoing meetings, training, and team-building activities. Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Certified Peer Support Worker, Family Peer, Wraparound or Equivalent (Accepted certifications: CFPSW, CPSW, and CWF or Equivalent)
  • Current experience as a peer and willingness to acquire certification in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Willingness to work holidays and weekends
  • Continued commitment to your own recovery

Responsibilities

  • Work from home while maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus in a distraction-free private office space
  • Speak with callers over the phone, connecting with individuals and building rapport and client engagement
  • Provide available resources or information needed to callers
  • Remain calm and professional while multi-tasking and supporting callers
  • Engage with the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL)
  • Build empowering peer relationships with individuals
  • Work with and grow a connection with people by sharing lived experience
  • Offer hope, recovery, and support services
  • Handle confidential information professionally
  • Take part in ongoing meetings, training and team building activities with other Peer Support Specialists
