About The Position
NATIVE, Inc. is seeking a Peer Support Specialist in Fargo, North Dakota. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a 40-hour work week and a 60-day probation period. The role involves providing support to clients with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or brain injuries, coordinating services, and assisting clients in achieving their recovery goals. The position reports to the CEO.
Requirements
- Personal lived experience in recovery from a mental health disorder, substance use disorder, brain injury, or a combination thereof.
- A minimum of one year of healthy living and/or recovery.
- A personal statement describing their recovery journey and commitment to recovery.
- Three Letters of recommendation, including one that demonstrates commitment to the recovery process.
- Possess a Valid Driver’s License
- Pass background check
- Must be or become state certified in Peer Support Specialist Training.
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills with capacity to efficiently manage multiple clients
- Possess cultural competency in working with individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges, addiction, criminal backgrounds and/or disabilities
- Demonstrate professional relationships and be a team player
- Knowledge of community resources
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Be available for clients as needed which may require flexible scheduling
- Coordinate services with care coordination staff, community resources, and other service providers
- Submit case notes to care coordinators
- Coordinate and assist clients with navigating essential community resources
- Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to behavioral health crisis situations
- Assist client in completion of goals outline in care plan
- Serve as a member of multi-disciplinary team
- Transport clients to recovery related meetings, counseling appointments, or to access other services, as needed
- Participate in other duties/activities as assigned
