Requirements

• Identify as a mental health consumer.
• Willingness to share personal experience of mental health recovery and support others in need.
• Belief in recovery from mental illness and enthusiasm for helping persons with disabilities, rooted in empathy and compassion.
• Demonstrate a careful and caring attitude.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits and client transportation.
• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Must hold an Adult Peer Support Certification and be certified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Nice To Haves

• Experience providing peer support services to clients experiencing serious mental illness and other co-occurring behavioral health disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and support for the wellbeing of clients as an active member of the Wellspring multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Offer supportive counseling and crisis intervention with the advice and consultation of the clinical team.
• Assist clients with their mental health recovery through problem-solving and life skills training via individual and group sessions.
• Complete electronic documentation of services during each shift worked.
