Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience serving the Spokane community. We provide evidence-based treatment for behavioral health issues to adults, youth, and seniors. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, we believe in recovery and helping clients lead fulfilling lives. The multi-disciplinary Homeless Outreach Stabilization Team (HOST) works in the community to provide services including substance abuse treatment, medical services, rehabilitative support, case management, and peer support services. This program is designed for homeless individuals with behavioral health challenges who have not benefited from traditional outpatient programs. The Peer Support Specialist/Trainee will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to serve homeless adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders. The role involves assisting individuals in identifying services and activities that promote recovery and lead to increased meaning and purpose, using lived experiences to connect with clients, foster hope, and provide support. Peers also offer information on resources, safe use, and harm reduction practices, and bring insight to the care team. Peer service locations include shelters, encampments, transportation hubs, and other community gathering spots.
