About The Position
SA Peer Support Specialist - Adult Outpatient Services (Certified Recovery Support Specialist - CRSS) This position is located at our Adult Outpatient Service in Dothan, Al Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8am - 5pm & Tuesday/Thursday 10am - 7pm
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must have personally experienced substance abuse
- Must successfully complete Certified Peer Specialist training and exam upon hire
- Possess a valid Driver License with good MVR
- Must meet insurability requirements to drive a system vehicle (21 years of age).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental illness or related field
- Previously completed Certified Peer Specialist training and exam with ADMH
Responsibilities
- Providing peer support services for clients with substance use disorders
- Working directly with consumers at AOS to promote wellness from substance abuse disorder
- Facilitating peer support groups / self-help groups
- Travel may be required
