About The Position

Forward Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Peer Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our Peer Support Program while providing leadership, supervision, and guidance to Peer Recovery Supporters. The Peer Coordinator serves as the direct supervisor of Peer Support staff and is responsible for ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agency standards, OhioMHAS requirements, and best practices in recovery support. Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, the Peer Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a recovery-oriented environment that promotes client engagement, empowerment, and long-term recovery success.

Requirements

  • Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS) credential in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Peer Recovery Support services.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
  • Previous experience supervising Peer Support staff.
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment programs, recovery housing, or community behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to Peer Recovery Supporters.
  • Monitor staff performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily Peer Support Program operations.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Peer Support staff.
  • Ensure Peer Support services are delivered in accordance with OhioMHAS certification standards and agency expectations.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and individual supervision sessions.
  • Review documentation for quality, completeness, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, case management, housing, and administrative teams to coordinate client care.
  • Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in developing and implementing recovery-focused programming, groups, and activities.
  • Respond to client concerns, staff issues, and program needs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in agency committees, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and program data as assigned.
  • Model professional behavior and recovery principles at all times.
