Peer Support Counselor

This role provides community-based support services to clients and families, including mentoring, advocacy, skill development, and resource linkage. The Peer Support Counselor collaborates with treatment team members, helps clients navigate behavioral health and community services, assists with communication and service coordination, and documents services in accordance with peer support scope of practice. The TAY FSP program serves clients (ages 16-24) through outpatient community-based services and support, delivering client services throughout Fresno County. Services may include individual and family counseling, medication management, housing, education, and vocational support.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
- Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
- Peer Support Specialist Certification: successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment
- A valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria.

- Supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals (where applicable).
Responsibilities
- Provides community-based support services to clients and families, including mentoring, advocacy, skill development, and resource linkage.

- May be required to transport clients/client family members utilizing personal vehicle.
