About The Position

The Anderson School of Management is seeking talented Peer Success Leaders to join the Student Engagement, Empowerment and Development team in driving student success. The Peer Success Leaders will act as a guide to support students transition into college successfully and/or continue, by sharing their own challenges/successes as a UNM Anderson student. Peer Success Leaders enrich the student experience by serving as peer mentors by sharing resources and strategies personally used to overcome obstacles and maneuver the educational system. Individuals in this position will support our student engagement programming initiatives, provide office support and work as a team to develop and facilitate student success/engagement events for their peers at Anderson. Peer Success Leaders are representatives for their concentrations and the Anderson School of Management. These positions are offered in Summer, Fall and Spring semesters based on availability. If you like working with others and want to make a difference this is the position for you. As a Peer Success Leader, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the journeys of fellow Lobos.

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, and a diverse student body; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong interest in aiding UNM Anderson student success in higher education
  • At least a third year or fourth year if undergraduate, or new graduate student (who received their BBA at UNM)
  • Able to complete tasks without constant supervision
  • Ability to build community and conduct team building activities
  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • If Work Study, must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

  • Demonstrated ability to model appropriate behavior, goal setting and mentoring for campus community.
