About The Position

Assists in the operation and maintenance of the SHARE Spot drop-in center. Engage members in conversation and support. Assist in development and provision of groups, explaining the purpose and activities. Provide support in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of an activities program to meet the diverse need of the members. Ensure a non-judgmental, supportive atmosphere is maintained for all. Conveys hope to members about their own recovery. Recognizes when to share experiences and when to listen to members. Supports members to set goals and to dream of future possibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Peer Support Specialist certification or ability to become certified within one (1) year of employment.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • CBHC New Hire Orientation (NHO) completed within first two (2) months of employment.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
