About The Position

The Psychiatric Peer Specialist will have shared responsibility for all clients on the team, contributing to the goals and strategies that make up the core of an individual client's program and progress within the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP).

Requirements

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Full valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Direct experience with the mental health system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service field or equivalent experience. Formal education is required.

Nice To Haves

  • National certification as a Peer Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Generate client assessments, develop individual rehabilitation plans, and document progress towards goals.
  • Carrying out assignments to fulfill the mission of providing sanctuary and support to clients in the community.
  • Participate in meetings as requested.
  • Coordinate care with outside agencies and internally.
  • Using the electronic medical records, input data and following through seeing services to their completion.
  • Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader
