As a Peer Support Specialist, you may work with clients in a variety of settings including Correctional Facilities, Recovery Housing, Specialty Courts (e.g., Drug or Mental Health Court), and Outpatient Programs. In these settings, you will provide peer support to individuals preparing for re-entry, assist with recovery planning and linkages to post-release services, support clients in building sober routines and accessing resources for employment, health, and daily living, help participants meet court requirements, attend court and treatment appointments, and stay engaged in recovery, and work alongside clinical teams to reinforce treatment goals and provide peer-led recovery support.
