About The Position

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. This position is key to supporting clients throughout their recovery process and promotes healthy behaviors. The Peer Recovery Specialist Supervisor provides peer recovery support to clients diagnosed with or identified as having a substance abuse disorder, mental health disorder, or co-occurring disorder and provides supervision to the peer recovery team.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Two years of experience providing peer recovery support services.
  • Current certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist from the Maryland Addictions Professional Certification Board (MAPCB).
  • Applicants must be in a state of recovery for 2 years from a substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorder.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Peer Recovery Program.
  • Tracking statistical trends from recovery support programs.
  • Working with staff to plan, establish, and modify programs and services.
  • Supervising and providing oversight for all recovery support programs.
  • Monitoring quality of peer services.
