About The Position

Working in a multidisciplinary team, the Peer Recovery Coach is available to assist and support guests experiencing substance use conditions. The Peer Recovery Coach primary role is to engage guests with substance use and provide encouragement, support, and treatment service connections for guests agreeing to treatment. The Peer Recovery Coach will also provide follow-up contact when the guest leaves the service location, in order to ensure follow-up and engagement with treatment services in the community. In collaboration with the treatment team, the Peer Recovery Coach will assist guests to problem solve barriers to treatment. The Peer Recovery Professional is responsible for appropriately documenting services provided in accordance with program procedures.

Requirements

  • High-school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Must be or have been actively engaged in their own recovery program.
  • Minimum of two years demonstrated personal recovery and sustained abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use.
  • Effectively communicate with various staff in the healthcare setting.
  • Engage identified guests positively using recovery model.
  • Apply CCAR knowledge.
  • Adhere to HIPPA requirements and confidentiality.
  • Make appropriate community referrals.
  • Perform professionally and compassionately under stress.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years preferred demonstrated personal recovery and sustained abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use.
