About The Position

Health Solutions West is the Western slope’s largest behavioral health care organization, covering more than 23,000 square miles across 10 counties. With over 250 employees in Western Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, case managers, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. The Peer Recovery Coach will perform outreach and engagement into Medication Assisted Treatment for people experiencing an opiate use disorder. The goal of the program is to help people in need of treatment to get connected to available services with the communities.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to help individuals connect with Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP), specifically MAT, and share their experience with the treatment community and medical professionals.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with multi-levels of medical professionals.
  • Ability to produce written documentation of clinical work in a manner readily understood by other service providers.
  • Ability to summarize service themes from a variety of client contacts and communicate suggested improvements for service delivery.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment when assessing the level of risk and determining resolution of client emergencies, resulting in a safe outcome.
  • Must be able to type into various software applications and have a working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must already be authorized to work in the US; sponsorships not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired candidates will have firsthand experience with substance abuse disorders, either personally or as a family member of someone impacted with a substance abuse disorder.

  • Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) applies to onsite positions only based on applicable FTE. Telehealth employees are not eligible. Hourly employees working in Glenwood or Rifle will receive a COLA of $1.44 per hour.
