About The Position

The Old Colony Y is seeking a Peer Mentor for their TAG Programs team. This role involves supporting young adults in a safe, positive, and structured environment to help them build confidence, independence, and life skills. The Peer Mentor will build meaningful relationships, facilitate activities, support community connections, and encourage young adults in achieving their goals.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid ID
• Must successfully complete CORI and SORI checks
• Professional references required
• Must complete required training and certifications
• Ability to work effectively with young adults who may have emotional and behavioral challenges

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with adolescents/young adults preferred
• Social services experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Build positive, supportive relationships with young adults
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor
• Facilitate recreational, social, and community activities
• Support daily living skills, self-care, and meal preparation
• Assist with program intake and orientation
• Use de-escalation and crisis prevention skills
• Support young adults with employment, education, court, and community opportunities
• Complete required program documentation
