About The Position

Temple University's Barnett College of Public Health is searching for a Part-time Peer Engagement Co-Coordinator to support a funded research study comparing peer-supported travel training to travel training without peer support. The Peer Engagement Coordinator will support the implementation of the "Ready to Ride" intervention Peer Support approach, including monitoring and evaluating its components for intervention fidelity. This role also involves organizing and conducting training sessions to support Peer Supporters with disabilities across study sites. Candidates with lived experience with a developmental disability are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software programs, email communications, calendar management, and shared drives.
  • Proficient in use of web-conferencing apps (e.g., Zoom).
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary research team and to provide support to various levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and articulate questions or problems encountered to supervisors.
  • Ability to interact with and facilitate the accessibility of needs of diverse stakeholder population to include community partners, clients and staff.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail, and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, in person and virtually (e.g., web-based meetings).
  • Ability to conduct research fact finding searches, including internet and scholarly literature searches.
  • Ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the "Ready to Ride" intervention Peer Support approach.
  • Monitor and evaluate the components of the "Ready to Ride" intervention for fidelity.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions to support Peer Supporters with disabilities across study sites.
  • Facilitate coordination across sites.
  • Prepare educational/instructional materials (video, audio, written) regarding peer support and Ready to Ride.
  • Communicate with and coordinate with interventionists across sites via email and phone/text.
  • Provide an individualized approach when interacting with Peer Supporters.
  • Generate solutions to intervention implementation challenges to meet the needs of interventionists and research participants.
