About The Position

Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is looking for a Parent Partner to join their team. This organization provides individualized, creative, and flexible services infused with evidence-based and evidence-informed strategies. They are a values-driven organization providing family-oriented behavioral health care for children, youth, and families in their own homes and communities. Their teams provide intensive mental health services and supports to help children and youth remain safely in their homes with their families, strengthening family unity. With sites throughout Western Washington and Portland, Oregon, they offer comprehensive intensive, wrap-around mental health services to a diverse population of youth and families, employing nearly 800 caring and compassionate employees. This position is based out of the FBH Bremerton office and requires scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of youth and families served, with services provided in community-based settings and family homes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 21 or older.
• Personal (lived) experience as a parent of a child who has been or is receiving community / mental health services within the past ten years.
• Ability to drive to family homes within the community with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record per CCS policy.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to visually assess safety within family homes and in the community.
• Availability to flex some work hours.
• Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
• Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
• Support and uphold the mission, beliefs, and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

Nice To Haves

• Personal history as a parent of a youth/child who has been a recipient of behavioral health, child welfare, complex medical coordination or juvenile justice services who use that personal experience in building support with families.
• Prepared to disclose personal experiences with youth, parents, and others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, provide support, and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving Family Behavioral Health Services.
• Help a parent voice their own perspective and assure that other team members understand their perspective and use that perspective in treatment planning.
• Help youth, parents, and families achieve confidence in their abilities to team on a recovery journey and maintain hope for their success after formal behavioral health services have been completed.
• Actively partner with families, their natural supports, and community services to achieve long-term safety and stability in neighborhoods and communities.
