About The Position

The Peer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers for the Recovery Center and provides pre-service orientation and training to peer volunteers. This role involves working closely with peer volunteers to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities, as well as overseeing the work performed by peer volunteers and helping to facilitate volunteer committees. Additionally, the Peer Coordinator will provide recovery coaching to participants and perform case management activities related to housing, job search, medical services, insurance, social services, and education. The role also includes coordinating continuing recovery referrals and scheduling initial appointments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Must have a driver's license & vehicle
Must attend a full week training (Recovery Coach Academy)
Must display the use of appropriate independent judgement to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in substance addiction program preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred

Responsibilities
