Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification required
  • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) designation required
  • Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, recovery services, reentry services, or related experience (preferably 2 or more years of experience)
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems

Nice To Haves

  • Lived recovery experience and willingness to appropriately use that experience to support others preferred
  • Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, substance use treatment, corrections, or reentry programs preferred
  • Experience conducting orientations, mentoring, coaching, or facilitating groups preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing peer support, encouragement, mentorship, and recovery-oriented coaching to members
  • Serving as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping skills and recovery principles
  • Conducting facility tours and supporting new member orientation and engagement
  • Helping members understand program expectations, services, and available resources
  • Coordinating housing placements, room assignments, and housing-related logistics
  • Supporting the Freedom Guide Program and developing member leadership opportunities
  • Collaborating with clinical, admissions, facilities, housekeeping, and support teams to promote member success
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting program operations and member services
