About The Position

COPC is seeking a licensed, board-certified part-time Pediatrician, 3 days a week, for the Worthington Pediatrics practice. The Pediatrician will focus on the health and well-being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 21. They will serve as primary care providers, dedicating their clinical practice to the broad scope of pediatrics. General pediatricians play a critical role in the routine care of young people, aiming to prevent, detect, and manage any physical, emotional, social, or developmental issues from birth to adulthood. The practice has a great reputation for pediatric care in the community and focuses on health education, preventive medicine, and disease management. COPC uses the state-of-the-art EHR system, EPIC. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. There is a potential for growth to a full-time role in the future, but it will initially start as part-time.

Requirements

  • Licensed, board-certified Pediatrician
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO)
  • Three year residency training in Pediatrics
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics (ABP)

Nice To Haves

  • Two or three year fellowship Pediatric training

Responsibilities

  • Performing age-appropriate health screening including well visits.
  • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other disorders that affect children.
  • Ensuring that children are achieving developmental milestones.
  • Performing evaluations to detect developmental or behavioral disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) and developing care plans to address these problems.
  • Educating parents/caregivers about well-child care, including immunizations, and counseling parents/caregivers about all aspects of their child's health.
  • Working with parents/caregivers to foster healthy lifestyles.
  • Advocating for the welfare of children, educating those involved in the care of children, and effectively communicating with parents/caregivers, other physicians, teachers, and social workers on issues of child welfare.
  • Refer patient/parent to seek additional help with diagnosing or treating more complex conditions with a pediatric subspecialist.
